COLOMBO (News 1st); Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's wife, Shiranthi Rajapaksa, has made a request to the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court seeking anticipatory bail.

In her application, Shiranthi Rajapaksa has informed the court that there is a possibility she could be arrested at the airport upon her return to Sri Lanka after undergoing medical treatment abroad.

Accordingly, she has requested that she be released on bail under any conditions deemed appropriate by the court.

The respondent named in the application is the Officer-in-Charge of the Financial Crimes Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department.
